Insalata Tricolore & Pan Fried Seabass With Butter Sauce

It's Friday!
Here's my most delicious dinner tip to start off your weekend:

Insalata Tricolore & Pan Fried Seabass With Brown Butter Sauce

Ingredients (serves two):
  • 2 seabass fillets
  • breadcrumbs -or- matzo meal -or- flour
  • 1 large tomato
  • 1 avocado
  • some basil
  • 1/4 of a red onion
  • 1 packet of buffalo mozzarella cheese
  • a few capers
  • 100 g butter
  • lemon juice
  • salt/pepper
Cut the tomato, avocado and mozzarella in thick slices, arrange them with the basil leaves in this order: tomato, basil, mozzarella, avocado. Or arrange in whichever order you want, just don't put all the tomato slices or mozzarella next to each other ok? Cut up the onion finely and sprinkle some of it on top of your tricolore salad. Season with a little pepper and sea salt, if you want you can also add a dash of olive oil or vinaigrette dressing.

Pat the fish fillets (on both sides) in breadcrumbs, matzo meal or flour, season with salt and pepper. Put some oil in a hot pan and fry the fish until they are golden brown, approximately 1-2 minutes on each side. When ready remove the fish from the pan and wrap them in foil to keep warm. Carefully wipe the pan with a paper towel.

For the sauce you need to be focused because it'll be done in a flash! Pop the butter in the pan and lower the heat slightly, at the same time chuck in the onion. Splash some lemon juice in there together with a bunch of capers. Stir in some salt and pepper and you're done! The butter sauce should be light brown but obviously not burned.

Unwrap your seabass and cover them with the butter sauce, and enjoy!

2 x Bird Scarves

Hey everyone and happy almost-Friday!
I'm really excited to show you my new silk scarf prototypes! They were a bit tricky to photograph because they haven't been cut and sewn yet, at the moment these two scars are printed on the same sheet of fabric so imagine them without the hint of another design showing through and without the white edges!

This a new version of my "Sailor Bird" design, I've added this b/w diamond-shaped pattern which I'm really happy about!

The second scarf features a new layout of my peacock design...

there's two peacocks this time!

Both of the scarves are printed on 100 % crepe de chin silk fabric, I used Spoonflower and think they came out beautifully!

Can't wait til they are all sewn up and ready for the trade show!

Black Alice

Today I have ordered a new tray to show at the trade fair, it's my 'Alice in Wonderland'-inspired design with a black background. I'm excited to see how it turns out! I'm also waiting for some scarves to be delivered, can't wait to show them to you guys!

New Blog Background

This week has been really busy for me, I have worked on my new products for the Pulse show. It's fun but also a bit stressful, I made a mistake when I ordered some fabric to be printed, mixing up the dpi causing the print to be too large... It's a lot to think about when you are both designer and production manager in one! But thankfully the printing company is very helpful and they'll be able to re-print it for me in time for my deadline.

This pattern I've put as the blog background will be on one new product, what it is I will show soon!

Hope you'll have  a great weekend!
